Nutrisystem

I have been giving this some thought for a while. I have added the exercise back into my life. I am teaching water aerobics twice a week. I am teaching an aquatic arthritis class at least once a week. I am also attempting karate twice a week (they started offering a Monday/Wednesday class while the kids are in school that should make me go more often). I am eating less food even if I am not making the best choices.

Since my experience eating raw, I have been rather burned out on meal preparations and eating vegetables. I have been more than happy to eat prepared foods. I have also not been as interested in food. I am not sure if that is the medications I am taking or not. Since I have no desire to cook and I don't really care about what I am eating most of the time, I decided it was time to try a meal delivery service.

I ran into someone at the girls' school who was doing Nutrisystem and she said that it has worked well for her husband and herself. I convinced Charlie to do it with me. Most every time that I dieted, Charlie has said that he will finish up what we have in the house and then "sometimes" diet with me. I decided that this time, in order to be succesful, I couldn't have a repeat him eating steak while I was on day 3 of a raw food diet. So, I convinced him to do Nutrisystem with me.

I am trying to be realistic about this. The food so far hasn't been bad. We bought a month's worth. We still plan to go out to eat every once in a while. We also have the holidays coming up. My theory is that if I eat about 1300 calories all week and then go out one meal, I will average about 1500 calories which will help me lose weight.

I thought about going back to a diet where I count calories and cook myself, but I am so not in the mood to put all the time and effort into planning, shopping, and cooking. I really am afraid that it will throw me back into a food obsession. Like I said, I am realistic, though and realize that I may not be happy with the prepared foods long term. With Nutrisystem, their meals are only part of what you eat at meal time. I am hoping that when I tire of the food, I can use their system but substitute my own piece of protein into the mix. For now, I am content to eat what they have. Since I am on medicine, exercising regularly, and now eating calorie controlled, the weight has to come off, right?
